DS likens himself to Lord Krishna

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president D. Srinivas likened himself and Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to ‘Krishna-Arjuna’ in the epic Mahabharata. He said this at a party meeting here on Wednesday night in a bid to assert that there were no differences between him and the Chief Minister. He told the cadres that he would ensure that the party faced the coming elections with unity. On the issue of Telangana, he said it was the party high command alone that would decide the issue.

PCC president Dharmapuri Srinivas has exuded confidence that victory of Congress in three northern states will repeat in Andhra Pradesh also in the forthcoming election. He said Opposition parties were unable to digest the Congress victory and were spending sleepless nights as their dreams were shattered.
Addressing swearing-in ceremony of East Godavari District Congress Committee on Wednesday, he said that the party would come out with flying colours in the State because of welfare schemes that they have taken up in the last four and half years.
“No state government in the country has taken up so many schemes. No one is going to do more than this to the people if they want to come to power. There is no party that won the hearts of people like Congress, which honoured all the election promises,” Mr. Srinivas said. He recalled that Arogyasri, free power to farmers, Rs.2 per kg rice and a number of schemes that reached common man has helped that Congress to double its image among people.
Dreams shattered
Attacking Opposition parties he said TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu was the first person to be shocked on northern state election results and his dreams to come back to power were shattered after results were declared. The recent elections proved that people would vote for development.
He said there was nothing to comment on PRP as they were setting their house and there was no one to give good suggestion to them.

ZP Chairperson Ch. Venugopalakrishna who appointed as DCC president first took oath and others followed. Ministers Jakkampudi Rammohana Rao, Gollapalli Suryarao and Pilli Subashchandra Bose were also present.
Earlier, the PCC president was accorded overwhelming welcome at Madhurapudi airport though his flight was delayed for 3 hours.
